
The male-voice ensemble Camerata Musica
Limburg was formed in 1999 and its roots trace back to the Limburg Boy’s
Choir, one of the best-known boy’s choirs in Germany. Since their formation the singers have developed an extensive repertoire stretching from Gregorian chant, romantic compositions, contemporary pieces, to Barbershop and Jazz arrangements. Camerata Musica Limburg has gained an enviable reputation in public opinion. Invitations to numerous concerts lead the young ensemble through Germany and the foreign countries of Europe, at last to the Cathedral of Lichfield (England) in October 2006. |

Not only in concerts the singers entertain the audience, but also at national and international choir competitions the male vocal ensemble is extremely successful. In october 2004 Camerata Musica Limburg won the hr-klassik choir competition and were awarded the “hr-klassik Choir of the Year 2004”. hr-klassik is one of Germany’s well-known classical radio stations. In 2006 the young singers could celebrate the first prize in the category "Equal voices" at the international choir competition "Florilege Vocal" in Tours (France). This year the ensemble brought back to Limburg even two prizes from Maasmechelen (Belgium): At the 9th international choir competition Camerata Musica won the first prize in the category "Choirs with equal voices" and additionally received a special prize for the best performance of a compulsory piece. |
